10:55 pm - Update On Grandmother
Many of you know by now that I have been dealing with my grandmother not doing so well.
Last Friday my grandmother had a fall. I don't know much details on the fall. My father had spoke to her on the phone a couple time that day and had noticed her speech was not right. He started thinking she might have had a stroke. My grandmother lives out in Florida with my aunt in the winter months and so my aunt took her to the hospital to get checked out. The next day the CAT scan had confirmed that she had a few mini strokes. Her blood count is bad and they wanted to give her a blood transfusion but my grandmother does not want that and my aunt also thinks the risk is to high. They also took a chest x-ray and found she is starting to get fluid in her lungs now. The doctors at this point are saying it does not look good.
A couple of days ago my father got on the phone with her and my grandmother said to him "Get me out of her. I want to go home (meaning her home up here, not in Florida" I am sure she is getting tired of being poked and tested on and everything else.
So my aunt is now setting up a medical jet to fly her up so she can be home. I think she just wants to be home and with her family. We are all up here beside my aunt who is with her now. I can only hope that she will get well and get through this but that part of me tells me she is an 88 year old woman who is getting tired.
It has taken over my emotion at times and has been stressful because of the way some of my family deals with things. I know the next couple of weeks are going to be stressful.
